Apr 2008. Fundicion Nodular celebrates its 1st may festivity.

Fundicion Nodular celebrates on Saturday 19/4/08 the festivity of 1st may, in which it also arrives at its 52 nd anniversary. During the acts, taking place all day long in its facilities, and also in a nearby hall, the traditional “Bollo” (spiced bread) will be distributed among all workers, old mates will be remembered and the “José Suñer” prices or “Veteran Medals” will be awarded.




Mar 2008. FUNDICION NODULAR OBTAINS INTEGRATED ENVIROMENTAL CERTIFICATION.

Fundición Nodular’s facilities have been awarded the EU’s Integrated Environmental Certificate for all its foundry and machining activities. Certification is compulsory under Spanish Law 16/2002 for integrated pollution control & prevention which sets low pollution standards for diverse industries. Duration of this authorisation is 8 years.




Nov 2007. FUNDICION NODULAR RENEWS ITS ISO 9001:2000 CERTIFICATION

Fundición Nodular has renewed its ISO 9001 certificate for production of mill rolls, with a validity of 3 more years. Certification was issued by Lloyd’s Register Quality Assurance Limited, after a comprehensive audit carried out November 2007.




Oct 2007. Fundicion Nodular participates in the 44th SEMINÁRIO DE LAMINAÇÃO - PROCESSOS E PRODUTOS LAMINADOS E REVESTIDOS

Fundicion Nodular has participated between last 16th and 19th October in the Seminar organised by ABM (Brasilian Association for Metalurgy and Materials)) about process and products for lamination celebrated in Campos do Jordäo – Brasil. During the technical sessions, Fundicion Nodular’s R&D and Commercial executives presented their advances regarding rolling mill roll technology. Brasil is one of the world’s leading steel-producers, showing actually vigorous growth expected to continue in the near future. There it was presented the work of our Technical Dpt. on Chemical Properties and advances for indefinite chill mill rolls. In february 2007 Fundicion Nodular presented during Rolls' 2007 - International Workshop on Rolls for Flat Rolling of Steel sponsored by JINDAL in India its work on Metallurgical Application to Work and Back Up Rolls for Hot&Cold Rolling of Flat Products. Attendance to both seminars was supported and economically backed by Asturias Public Administration through its promotion instrument IDEPA.




?Jun 2007. Fundicion Nodular obtains Bronze Seal and certifies its management according to EFQM’s Standards.

?Fundicion Nodular has successfully achieved final validation and certification by Lloyd’s Register – LRQA aimed at obtaining EFQM (European Foundation for Quality Management) Bronze Seal. Activities in which key staff and lower echelons of the organisation took part were carried out during the last 10 months through different working-teams. After initial evaluation, three improvement areas were selected based on their impact in management. Certification and Bronze Seal effectively acknowledge suitability, development and results of such actions, which have referred to reviewing the company’s Strategic Plan, improvement of the balance score-card and deployment of Fundicion Nodular’s process map. This certification has taken part in an initiative (“Excellency – Mission”) by the Asturian Quality Club in which a selection of companies in Asturias compromised with Quality and Excellent Management participated.
